A Picture Worth 1000 Words

While I do love doing good commercial work, this project is one of those where I get to use my talents for a greater good than straight-up capitalism and I’m very proud to share it. The video presents and explains a new therapy method helping hospitalized kids recover more swiftly and feel more “normal” during their hospital stay. It’s the Interactive Theater at the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital: It’s me you hear about :26 seconds in saying, Read More...

Video Game Voiceovers

As an example of how “one-thing-leads-to-another,” when work is slow, I often call production studios, animation houses, agents and agencies across the country attempting to put a few of my voices in their heads. Well, in doing so, I called a bright, charming woman at Rex Production & Post in Portland and sent her my commercial and corporate narration demos, because that’s what they do. But in the course of the conversation, I mentioned I love doing character work and Read More...

Healthcare Work

Among the things I voice are medical device, procedure and therapies training programs for a nationally known international healthcare corporation. I like doing things that are helpful. Reading Out Loud

So, I signed on to read a novel on tape. I read financial book on tape a few years back that, ironically, was a total financial disaster for me. But this novel, by Brett Arquette, is the story of a rogue billionaire seeking revenge for the terrorist killings of his family by methodically killing the people who sold weapons to the terrorists who did it, with super high tech weapons. What’s not to like? There’s also a beautiful CIA spy Read More...

Dream Big

There is a line in the film “The Princess Bride” where Princess Buttercup and her beloved “farm boy,” Wesley, (who, at this point in time, is the “Dread Pirate Roberts”), are being chased by the villainous Prince Humperdink and the evil “six-fingered man” when they roll down a steep hill and find themselves on the edge of the “Fire Swamp.” Wesley suggests they escape through it, but Buttercup shrieks, “The Fire Swamp! We can’t survive the Fire Swamp!” To which Read More...
